Internet Star Antoine Dodson Responds to Digitial Blackface Controversy | Video

*Antoine Dodson became Internet famous in 2010 after his interview with a local news station in Huntsville, Alabama went viral and resulted in his iconic phrase “hide your kids, hide your wife” being turned into numerous memes and a hit song.

Dodson recently weighed in on CNN’s digital Blackface controversy, telling TMZ that he disagrees with the argument that white people are “maliciously mocking African Americans — intentionally or otherwise — through the use of GIFs/memes,” the outlet writes.

Dodson’s been able to pay the bills from his viral fame because white people hire him as talent. He says he doesn’t do Black-sponsored engagements because they don’t pay well. Additionally, Dodson believes it is the Black community — not white people – that mock him the most.

Dodson shot to fame after appearing in a news segment to speak about chasing off a man who attempted to assault his sister by climbing into her bedroom window.

“Well, obviously we have a rapist in Lincoln Park. He’s climbing in your windows, he’s snatching your people up, trying to rape them,” he said during the interview.

“So y’all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband cause they raping everybody out here,” Dodson continued.

“We got your t-shirt…you’re so dumb, you are really dumb, for real,” he added.

“You don’t have to come and confess…we’re looking for you, we gonna find you. So you can run tell that, homeboy.”

A year after going viral, Dodson announced he was no longer homosexual. According to SandraRose.com, he married a woman and they share a daughter.

Last year, Dodson partnered with an Alabama brewery to craft the “Run N Tell That” lager. He also recently launched his own hot sauce.
