Sarah Niles Unpacks Her ‘Family Villain’ Role in New Prime Video Series ‘Riches’ | EUR Exclusive

*When it comes to TV dramas, we love strong, take-no-mess types of characters played by women. The ones that when you see them enter a scene you know they mean business. And that is the exact energy of Claudia Richards played by Sarah Niles in Prime Video’s newest series “Riches.”

The actress portrays the wife of the CEO and owner of a lucrative beauty brand. When she faces losing the family business the claws come out.  I spoke exclusively with Niles about her character and what Claudia brings to the show.

“She’s great, isn’t she? She’s good fun! Those are the juicy ones I love Joan Collins in Dynasty. I love those kinds of characters. The ones you love to hate,” said Niles. Her character definitely has that vibe. She is a confident and strong woman and those are the parts you’ll love about her.

On the other hand, she can be manipulative, calculated, and vindictive and that’s what you’ll hate most about her. Either way,  Claudia Richards is giving the audience exactly what they need and want from a family drama.

As mentioned before Claudia may be losing her position in the family business but that means her children’s legacy in the business is also affected. So, all of her intentions while fighting to keep what’s hers isn’t all malicious.

“I love how she is a survivor and she will fight for her family to the bitter end,” said Niles.

Fighting for her family comes at the cost of going against Claudia’s husband’s family. What’s a good family drama without opposing sides of a family fighting?

Claudia finds herself at odds with the two children from her husband’s first marriage who have come back into the picture to be a part of the business which is their birthright. All of this chaos unfolds Monday, December 2nd when the series debuts on Prime Video.
