*It’s been a busy day, and busy week for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. Once again Ye’s in the headlines after he announced his presidential candidacy for 2024. This is his second attempt to run for president, and he reached out to former President Donald Trump to be his running mate, which he declined.

On Tuesday, Ye caused social media waves when a video captured him walking through Miami International Airport with Nick Fuentes, who is described as a white supremacist by the Justice Department. Supposedly, the two men wearing blue jackets in the video were scheduled to meet with Donald Trump’s resort, Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

Fuentes, who is Catholic and has Mexican heritage from his father’s side, made a video after the El Paso August shooting that caused the death of 22 people, including Mexicans and Mexican Americans; Fuentes remarked: “The easiest way for Mexicans to not get shot and killed in Walmart is for them to not [expletive] be here,” according to the Washington Post.

Fuentes attended the white supremacist rally, “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has amassed many supporters called “Groypers” or the “Groyper Army.” This group of disgruntled Americans gravitated to Fuentes’ views of upholding white American identity and culture and preserving conservatism through fighting against liberals who they think are destroying America.

Ye and Fuentes met with Trump, and Ye recounted in a short video clip how impressed Trump was with Fuentes’ knowledge and enthusiasm.

Ye said of Fuentes, “unlike so many of the lawyers and so many people that he was left with on his 2020 campaign, he’s actually a loyalist.”

However, during their meeting, Trump made a phone call, and his demeanor toward Ye shifted and he insulted Kim Kardashian. Major fashion influencers and companies, Gap, Adidas, Balenciaga, Vogue, and T.J. Maxx, severed ties with Ye after he went on a media tsunami spewing antisemitic and far-right talking points.

The Jesus is King rapper also said that Trump began “screaming” at him during dinner when Ye asked him to be his vice president. According to the artist, “I think the thing Trump was most perturbed about [was] me asking him to be my vice president,” Ye recalls to far right-pundit Milo Yiannopoulos. “I think that was lower on the list of things that caught him off guard. When Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was going to lose, I mean has that ever worked for anyone in history? I’m like whoa hold on, hold on, hold on. You’re talking to Ye.”

Trump, who also wants to run for president in 2024, tried to distance himself from Ye and Fuentes, saying he did not know the far-right activist.

“This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Shortly thereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about,” Trump said in a statement on Friday via his Truth Social social media account.

“We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful,” Trump said. “They then left for the airport.”

“This is a f—ing nightmare,” added a Trump adviser. “If people are looking at [Florida Gov. Ron] DeSantis to run against Trump, here’s another reason why,” NBC reports.
