Kenya Barris Files for Divorce Again from Wife 20 Years

*Kenya Barris has once again filed to end his marriage to his estranged wife, Dr. Rania “Rainbow” Barris, after more than 20 years together.

Barris filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on June 1, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation, according to a court document obtained by PEOPLE.

Dr. Barris inspired Tracee Ellis Ross’s character on Kenya’s hit ABC series “Black-ish”. The pair, who share six children, have been separated since September 2020, according to the report. Kenya is seeking joint and legal custody of their kids and has agreed to pay his ex spousal support.

We previously reported…Rania, 47, first filed for divorce in 2014 but withdrew her request less than a year later. Kenya, 47, filed for divorce in 2019 before later calling it off.

Meanwhile, as we reported earlier, back in 2020 rumors surfaced that Tracee Ellis Ross and Kenya were dating. Love B.Scott was the first to report this story. Neither Ross nor Barris responded to the rumors.

Ross is notoriously private when it comes to her personal life. She previously said an interview, “I was born into a very public family and so I gained a relationship for myself to what is important… [and] what is scared in my life.”

She continued, “I don’t make a decision [that] ‘I will never talk about my relationships’ or anything like that. That’s certainly not a decision that I’ve made or anything like that, but there are certain things that are sacred to me that are not for public consumption. They are mine.”

Meanwhile, Gary With Da Tea on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show recently discussed accusations of Tracee being a homewrecker.

Gary said Rainbow would not stand for Kenya and Tracee’s alleged affair but he also noted that Ross would not engage in a relationship with a married man.
