*Lionsgate is preparing for the “at home” release of “Antebellum,” a racially-charged horror flick that has Janelle Monae going back in time to the antebellum south.
The Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz film stars Monae as Veronica Henley, a successful author who finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late.
The first clip takes place in a fancy restaurant, where Monae is dining with friends, and Gabourey Sidibe calls out the host for their segregated seating arrangement. The second clip has Monáe appears to be kidnapped on the way home from dinner, while the third shows Monáe, back in time, debating plans to escape their enslavement.
“Antebellum” will hit On Demand next Friday, Sept. 18.
