Williamson, a Compton native,  joined the legendary R&B group in 2006 and sang with them until 2015. He also sang lead on the Temps albums, “Back to the Front,” and “Still Here.”

He once said he did “more in six months of being a Temptation than many artists have done in a lifetime.”

“I never lost the dream of wanting to be a Temptation,” he said in an interview with Chapter & Verse Network in 2016. “But I didn’t want to be an imitation or one who impersonates my predecessors. I wanted to be myself.”

He was set to perform on Sept. 12 at a pay-per-view concert.

Bruce Williamson was 50.
