To commemorate the 57th anniversary of the March on Washington, the NAACP and Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network is hosting the 2020 Virtual March on Washington.
Civil rights leaders and the families of Black men and women who died at the hands of police are in attendance for remarks at the Lincoln Memorial and the in-person march. Included are the families of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor.
According to the NAACP, the event “will set forth a bold new Black agenda — advocating for comprehensive police accountability reform, economic empowerment, and equitable access to health care, education, and the voting booths.”
