Maria Taylor shares a personal story on ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” (Aug. 27, 2020)

*On ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” Thursday, host Maria Taylor told a story about her father giving “the talk” to her 19-year-old brother, highlighting the message with the warning “comply or die” when being stopped by the police.

Taylor said that her brother made sure to comply during one particular traffic stop, and “complied” when the officers asked if they could search the car, although he was perfectly within his rights to deny their request. Welp, the cops claimed they saw “sticks and stems” in the back and hauled her brother off to jail.

Her brother didn’t tell the cops that their father was a member of the FBI. Below, Taylor tells ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Jalen Rose what happened when her father got down to the precinct and encountered those cops. She also wondered where her brother would be today if her father wasn’t a Fed.
