*The woman who went viral in June for not wearing a mask at a Jacksonville, Fla. Pier 1 store and deliberately coughing on a woman undergoing cancer treatment has been arrested and charged with assault.
Heather Sprague told police she was watching 52-year-old Debra Vecchio Hunter berate employees in the store over having to wear a mask when she decided to film the antics with her phone. Hunter saw Sprague filming and turned her ire toward the woman. Sprague, who was wearing a mask, was undergoing treatment for a brain tumor.
In the video, Hunter can be seen and heard saying, ‘I think I’ll get real close to you and cough on you then, how’s that?’” She then coughs in Sprague’s face and called her an “as*h*le.”

Sprague took video of Hunter’s nastiness right to the police. In her Victim Crime Report filed with the State Attorney’s Office, Sprague said that Hunter also threatened to kick her and tore down a sign when leaving the store.
On July 22, Hunter was charged with assault. She bonded out immediately and is scheduled to be arraigned today (Aug. 19).
