The Pulse of Entertainment: ‘God Is Love’ Breaks Billboard Record for Steve Dalton

*“I knew it would be a song to reach all audiences,” said two-time Gospel Image Award winner Steve Dalton about the single “God Is Love.”

The single, released by Steve Dalton and The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte, broke a Billboard “Gospel Airplay Internet Radio Chart” record by staying at #1 for 20 weeks straight, breaking the 17 week record of Micah Lee for his “Don’t Break” single. “It has that type of appeal to it. “

Steve said the song was a divine inspiration.

“I had the draft and went back and forth…then the Lord said down-load the lyrics,” Dalton said about “God Is Love.” “He (God) links to us through song and gives us a message, as a Preacher, to lead you to those things. He just said, ‘Here you go.’”

The up-tempo single is the first from the upcoming winter release of “The Introduction” EP, and it reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s “Gospel Airplay Internet Radio Chart” on February 10, 2020 and stayed there until June 21st. It is accompanied with a music video that presents scenes of real-life situations experienced by members of The Leviticus Singers of Charlotte.

“We were at a national competition for churches from all over the country. I was placed over the music,” Steve said when I asked about how he hooked-up with the members of his choir/band. Dalton added, “The Lord just led us to them. He (God) spoke to me at 5 years-old, said I’d be doing his ministry out of the four-walls. My ‘team’ consists of my wife and everyone that has been with us for 10-12 years.”
