Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Move Out of Tyler Perry’s Mansion, Become Official Homeowners

*Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved out of Tyler Perry’s home in July and into their own family home in southern California, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their family home in July of this year,” the rep tells ET.

“They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbors, as well as for them as a family,” the spokesperson added.

According to PageSix, the couple have purchased a home in an exclusive neighborhood in Santa Barbara.

After fleeing England earlier this year, Meghan and Harry relocated to Canada for several months before moving into Tyler Perry’s eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom Tuscan-style, $18 million mansion in Beverly Hills.

According to Royal expert Katie Nicholl, the couple were “sorely mistaken” in thinking they’d have privacy in America.

“I think one of the big concerns when the couple moved to Los Angeles was security, at least, who was going to pay for that security. It’s my understanding that they’re renting Tyler Perry’s home, which comes with its own security entourage,” she shared with ET. “One of the key issues for them is that they are in the spotlight. They attract a huge amount of attention and their concern has always been how they would balance their private lives with their public roles.”

Meanwhile, a new book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex offers insight about why they stepped down as senior members of the British Royal family.

The book, “Finding Freedom,” was written by royal reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, and it features testimony from numerous palace insiders and friends of the former actress.

According to an excerpt, Harry and Meghan were left feeling some way during Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas speech last year, and there were no photos of the couple.

The authors said “For Harry and Meghan, it had been yet another sign that they needed to consider their own path.”

The book claims they felt they had “long been sidelined by the institution” and were “not a fundamental part of its future.”

“Finding Freedom” also details Markle’s “awkward moments” with Kate Middleton, Prince William’s wife.

“Though it was not necessarily her responsibility, Kate did little to bridge the divide,” wrote Scobie and Durand.

The authors note that both women “struggled to move past distant politeness.”

“There were just a handful of people working at the palace they could trust,” the authors write.

“A friend of the couple’s referred to the old guard as ‘the vipers’.

“Meanwhile, a frustrated palace staffer described the Sussexes’ team as ‘the squeaky third wheel’ of the palace.”
