*Jonathan Viverette witnessed cyberbullying as a child growing up in a small Illinois town and wanted to do something about it, particularly addressing its disproportionate presence among the African-American community.

He decided to launch iFollow, an app that would promote positivity, help reduce cyberbullying and create a safe space on social media that’s both fun and inclusive, according to OurWeekly.com. iFollow allows users to control what followers can see and the length of their comments, thereby creating a more positive community to share posts.

“There is a consistent issue of bullying and negativity that comes from social media communities. iFollow provides a safe, trusted platform that will bridge that gap, while creating new opportunities for users and a more safe and comfortable way of sharing their unique memories with their family and friends,” says Viverette.

iFollow is available in the Apple App Store for free and is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Viverette talks all about iFollow in the podcast interview below.
