‘Tiger King’ Star Carole Baskin Slams Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s ‘WAP’ Video Over ‘Big Cat Pimps’

*“Tiger King” star Carole Baskin has slammed Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” video because it features exotic cats.

The Big Cat Rescue CEO tells Billboard that the rappers’ use of the cats as props sends the wrong message that it’s cool to “glamorize” having them as pets.

“My guess is that most people won’t even see the Photoshopped cats in the scenes because the rest of it is so lurid,” Baskin wrote in a statement to Billboard. She added, “I was happy to see that it does appear to all be Photoshopped. It didn’t look like the cats were really in the rooms with the singers. In fact, probably most of the rooms were Photoshopped in via green screen.”

“That being said, you have to pose a wildcat in front of a green screen to get that image and that doesn’t happen in the wild,” she noted of the scenes with a cheetah and a tiger in “WAP.”

“It can’t happen in sanctuaries like ours where cats have plenty of room to avoid a green screen (or would shred it if offered access and could die from ingesting it). That tells me they probably dealt with one of the big cat pimps, who makes a living from beating, shocking and starving cats to make them stand on cue in front of a green screen in a studio. That’s never good for the cat,” Baskin continued.

Good morning cats and kittens

“The worst part is that it glamorizes the idea of rich people having tigers as pets,” she explained. “That makes every ignorant follower want to imitate by doing the same. After tigers are too old for pay to play sessions by people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue and others, they become a liability instead of an asset. While I think most are destroyed behind closed gates at that point, some end up being given away to people who want to have a tiger to show off. That never works out and the cats either die or end up dumped in sanctuaries or, worse yet, breeding mills. Either way, it’s always abusive to the cat.”

Cardi B previously pledged support for racist Joe Exotic, who is currently serving a 22-year federal prison sentence for the attempted murder of Baskin.

Meanwhile, Cardi has defended Kylie Jenner‘s cameo appearance in the video. She issued a statement after angry fans launched petition calling to have the reality star’s cameo removed.

When a fan wrote, “Normani did ALL this and Kylie walked down the hall and opened a door. If that’s not a perfect visual indication of Black women having to do the most…” wrote one fan, Cardi fired back with: “Normani is one of the best female artist that dances like she dances her f**kin ass off!” she wrote.

“Why would she open a door? Please tell me how that would make sense? The best part of the song is the beat and hook, it what makes you want to shake your ass,” Cardi B added.

“Not everything is about race. Theres issues out here in the world that is about race and I preach all the time about. This is not about f**kin race,” she continued.

“Why did I put Kylie on my music video? She treated my sister and daughter so lovely at her kid’s bday party,” Cardi insisted in a final tweet. “Travis (Scott, Kylie’s ex) and Set (Offset, Cardi’s husband) are real close and Kris Jenner have given me advice on certain things I ask for and her husband real cool with mine.”

And there you have it.
