*In this current era of social distancing, perhaps the most glaring part of NBA 2K21’s new “official video gameplay trailer” released Thursday (Aug. 6) is not the new shot meter (at the 0:08 mark), not the UCLA sighting (at 0:25), not the Neighborhood/Park/Beach2K tease (1:15), but the sight of sold-out arenas. Remember those?
It’s early, but folks online don’t seem to be impressed, with some saying the promo’s name, “Everything is Game,” should be called, “Everything is Same,” because it looks exactly like last year’s NBA 2K20.
This latest version becomes available on Sept. 4, and pre-orders are being taken now at https://nba.2k.com/buy/.
