Congress Lets Dr. Fauci Slide on His Own Mask Use

*Lawmakers did not address one topic of popular debate while questioning Anthony Fauci on Friday: Why did you take your mask off?

Fauci, the federal government’s top infectious disease expert, was photographed July 23 sitting in the empty stands at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., with his mask below his chin. Fauci had thrown out the opening pitch at the game between the Washington Nationals and the New York Yankees, then took a seat alongside his wife and a friend.

Lawmakers on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis never asked Fauci why he photographed talking with his friend while not covering his mouth and nose.

The National Institutes of Health did not respond to a request for comment, though Fauci has previously said he lowered his mask to drink water while seated outdoors at the ballpark.

Fauci, who advised Americans early on in the pandemic that there didn’t need to be widespread mask use, has since shifted his guidance, urging everyone to wear them when around others outside their homes. Fauci has also encouraged the use of goggles or eye shields to prevent the spread of the virus.

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio got into a contentious exchange with Fauci at Friday’s hearing.

“Mr. Fauci, do protests increase the spread of the virus?” Jordan asked.

“Crowding together, particularly when you’re not wearing a mask, contributes to the spread of the virus,” Fauci said.

Jordan repeatedly asked Fauci whether the government should limit the nationwide protests, which have been ongoing since the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a police officer knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes in May.

Fauci declined to directly say that protests should be limited.

“Avoid crowds of any type, no matter where you are, because that leads to the acquisition and transmission. I don’t judge one crowd versus another crowd. When you’re in a crowd, particularly if you’re not wearing a mask, that induces the spread,” he said.

Mask-wearing has become a partisan issue in the U.S., with some Americans protesting state and local leaders requiring the public to wear facial coverings when they leave their homes and are unable to social distance.

President Trump has been reluctant to wear a mask in public until recently. Trump wore a mask in public for the first time during his July 11 visit to Walter Reed National  Military Medical Center in Maryland on July 11. Since then, he has promoted mask-wearing as “patriotic.”

How Australia Deals With Its Maskless: Cop Chokes & Wrestles Woman to the Ground (Watch)

Australian police chokes woman during arrest for not wearing a mask

*Video of an Australian woman being choked by police and violently wrestled to the ground for not wearing a mask has reportedly sparked an internal investigation.

According to local outlet 7News, her decision to walk the streets bare-faced was a breach of the Chief Health Officers orders under Stage 4, which mandates the wearing of masks. She also faces separate charges of resisting and assaulting police. The woman was subsequently found to have had an exemption for wearing a mask from a doctor, according to 7News.

The incident took place Monday afternoon when the 21-year-old woman was approached by two police officers in a Melbourne suburb. As she resisted arrest, one of the officers grabbed her around the neck and moved her against a wall as her boyfriend pleaded for him to stop, saying she is medically excused from wearing a mask.

Watch below:

“Police made the decision to arrest the woman after she failed to provide her name and address,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said, according to NINE News NINE News. “She also did not state she had an exemption for not wearing a face covering. ”

Maryland Rape Suspect Kills Accuser After Jail Release Due to Coronavirus, Commits Suicide

Alexandria Police Department

*A Maryland man who allegedly raped a woman last year killed that same woman last week after he was released from jail because of the coronavirus

Ibrahim Bouaichi, 33, shot and killed himself after he was tracked down by police Wednesday, according to the Washington Post. Bouaichi was suspected of raping Karla Dominguez in October 2019, and she testified against him at a preliminary hearing last December.

Bouaichi was held without bond in Alexandria, Va., until April, and was scheduled to stand trial March 30 on charges of rape, sodomy, strangulation, abduction and burglary.

As coronavirus spread within the jail in March and April, his lawyers successfully argued for his release, the Associated Press reported. He then wasted no time travelling to Alexandria and fatally shooting Dominguez outside her apartment on July 29, the Post reported.

After the shooting, police released the following statement to the public asking for help in locating their prime suspect: Bouaichi is described as 33 year-old man of Middle Eastern descent, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds. Bouaichi should be considered armed and dangerous, and poses a potential threat to anyone who comes into contact with him. Bouaichi was last known to be driving a stolen, black, 2013 Nissan Altima sedan with Maryland tags 1CN3103. Below is a stock photo of the type of vehicle.

One week after Karla’s death, authorities located Bouaichi in Maryland. As they chased him, he crashed the car he was driving. Officers found him inside with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the report.

As reported by Fox News, Bouaichi’s attorneys, Manuel Leiva and Frank Salvato, said in a statement that they were “certainly saddened by the tragedy both families have suffered here.”

The lawyers said they “were looking forward to trial. Unfortunately, the pandemic continued the trial date by several months and we didn’t get the chance to put forth our case.”

According to the police, this was the first homicide in Alexandria in 2020.

Candace Owens: COVID is ‘Greatest Rigging of an American Election’ and ‘We’re All Playing a Part’ (Watch)

Candace Owens is interviewed by The Daily Caller

*Conservative commentator Candace Owens swears that the coronavirus, which has killed 701,000 people world wide and nearly 160,000 in the United States, is being used by liberals to hide their presidential candidate, keep Donald Trump from hosting his rallies and push for mail-in voting,“ which allows for tons of rigging.”

Her latest flare up is from an interview with conservative outlet The Daily Caller, which she tweeted Tuesday.

“Coronavirus is the greatest rigging of an American election that has ever taken place— and we are all unwitting participants,” she said in the video.

Owens claims that Democrats are taking advantage of social distancing measures to “hide Joe Biden so you never have to meet him. And, at the same time, we’re going to tell the current president that he can’t travel – but, if he does any events, if he has a room full of people, that it’s all dangerous and against safety measures and it’s not right.’

“Then, you have them talking about mail-in voting, which we know is corrupt. We know it’s corruptible. We know that it allows for tons of rigging.”

She also said that the Left is trying to rig the election by shutting down the economy, which forces everyone to rely on “the Left’s Socialist system. They’re relying on stimulus checks. And, that means they’re going to be more inclined to vote for someone who has more Socialist perspective.”
