*New details have emerged surrounding Tamar Braxton’s alleged suicide attempt on July 16.
As previously reported, Braxton is said to have sent an email to her WEtv bosses accusing them of destroying her family and making her “suicidal.”
The letter was sent weeks before her alleged suicide attempt, Page Six reports.
Braxton allegedly detailed her downward spiral in the email, explaining that her family is in “disarray.”
“We fight with each other, we betray each other, and now we’re physically assaulting each other — all happening because your show [“Braxton Family Values”] has chosen to show the absolute worst side of a strong, independent and successful African American family; a show that I created to showcase a strong Black Family as a beacon of hope for all the young black girls and boys out there; instead you coached and cajoled us into finding the worst in each other,” she wrote.
Braxton noted that “the final stake into the heart of my family” was “the day you dug up a secret I’d never shared with anyone, a secret I was so ashamed to talk about that I hid it even from my own mom: the fact that I had been assaulted and raped repeatedly from age 6 to age 16, sometimes multiple times a day.”

She went on to call the network “cruel white slave masters who once chained our forefathers, and the oppressive police forces that now terrorize our communities,” she added, “I hope those ratings were worth it because you succeeded in destroying a great black family.”
Last week, the audio of the 911 call that Tamar’s boyfriend David Adefeso made was released. In the clip, he can be heard saying: “She was very angry earlier on, she had trouble with her network … the company she’s working with. And they did something today. No no way.”
Tamar and her family are concerned about David’s motives during the 911 call, and why he felt it was necessary to mention the network.
WEtv recently released a preview of Braxton’s new reality show “Tamar Braxton: Get Ya Life!” and Adefeso is frustrated over his portrayal on the show.
“David’s behavior on the show, with Tamar and production was alarming. He wanted to be VERY involved and wanted to be on camera, way more than expected from the very first day,” a source close to production tells thejasminebrand.com.
“David constantly acted like he wanted to be behind-the-scenes and didn’t want to be on camera, but when production began he was always trying to be on camera,” the source added. “Even when he wasn’t scheduled to be in a scene – he would make sure that he was involved in some way and would make the scene about him, so that he could get more time on camera. He wanted this to be the ‘David and Tamar’ show.”
The source alleges, “And when he wasn’t there he was always calling Tamar and stressing her out – production was concerned more so with how he was affecting Tamar’s ability to focus on working on herself, which is what she said she wanted to do.”
The insider claims that David became upset once he watched the trailer and how he’s portrayed.
“This reality show was different in that the audience saw exactly what was shot. Those scenes where he’s inserting himself into the process, yelling at Goli (Samii) and telling Tamar what to do and how to handle herself – that’s what really happened,” said the source. “And I don’t think he expected to come off like that – he doesn’t want the world to see that. He was livid when he saw it. This was supposed to be his big moment where he was officially introduced to the world and that’s not the image he wanted to portray.”
Tamar’s “Get Ya Life” series is set to premiere July 30th at 10/9c.
