*There’s been endless rumor and speculation about T.I.’s relationship with his daughter Deyjah Harris ever since his controversial comments about her hymen.
On Monday, Tip took to Instagram to address the chatter. He specifically called out The Shade Room for pushing a negative narrative about him and the teenager. In the post, T.I. shared a conversation between himself, Deyjah, and other family members regarding their portrayal on the gossip site.
“So since our very public mishap (we comically refer to as ‘hymengate’) @theshaderoom reposts all my baby girl’s tweets and IG posts and casually insinuates or assumes she’s referring to me,” T.I. wrote. “We usually just dismiss it or laugh it off cause only WE KNOW WHATS UP WIT US‼️ But this time my baby expresses aggravation to us about it so with her permission I’m sharing our exchange.”
In the tweet, Deyjah wrote that people should “watch how you speak to your children. i don’t care how old they are, they still deserve the same respect that you expect in return.”

The Shade Room reposted the tweet and assumed Deyjah was talking about her father. The 19-year-old makes clear in her father’s post that she doesn’t respond to the outlet’s inquiries about her family life because they purposely takes her comments out of context.
“I’m sharing this with you all in hope of creating context that will redirect the agendas & intentions of @theshaderoom and their followers when they think of me&my baby girls relationship,” T.I. wrote. “That sh*t still on YALL MINDS… WE MOVED ON LONG AGO… Hopefully now you can too. Love and Respect”
Tip is referring to comments he made last November when he revealed that he used to accompany Deyjah to the gynecologist for virginity testing.
His daughter later sparked rumors that she was sexually abused when she was 11-years-old.
Deyjah shared her emotions in a post on social media, in which she criticized Black families for ignoring childhood abuse and protecting the abusers, SandraRose reported.
“Ok I’m so tired of how the black community doesn’t speak up on the things that happens in the family …………… stop protecting the men and women that touch children (sic)!!!!!,” she wrote.
Her comments prompted speculation that someone in the family sexually abused her. Many have been side-eyeing T.I.
