*We no longer have to imagine what a socially distanced, Black Lives Matter-emblazoned NBA court will look like.

The first images from inside the “bubble” court at Orlando’s Walt Disney World complex found their way onto the Internet Tuesday, showing “Black Lives Matter” written on either side of the court, the team benches using chairs placed at safe distances apart and plexiglass in front of the announcer’s booth. There are also lots and lots of video screens framing the court. Those will show fans live streaming in from home, because no fans will be allowed in the stands due to the pandemic.

“So what you’ll see in the arena are opportunities for fans to interact, to be seen in the arena and to have hundreds of fans be able to appear on the video boards surrounding the court,” Mark Tatum, deputy commissioner of the NBA, said during a conference call with reporters in June.

When play resumes on July 30, 22 teams will face off for playoff seeding purposes before the traditional 16 team playoff (Eastern and Western Conferences) begins.
