Joy Reid’s New MSNBC Show ‘The ReidOut’ Premiers TONIGHT at 7pm Eastern

*If you somehow missed the news, MSNBC has officially tapped Joy Reid to host new evening news and opinion show titled “The ReidOut” which premieres TODAY/TONIGHT at 7pm Eastern / 4pm Pacific.

Reid will be joined by inaugural guests fmr. United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms (Atlanta), Mayor Lori Lightfoot (Chicago), fmr. United States Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Lawrence O’Donnell, host of MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.”

“I’m honored and thankful for this opportunity,” Reid said in a press release. “I’ll always be proud of the work we did on AM Joy by pushing the envelope and tackling pragmatic conversations. I’m eager to carry that same energy into the 7 p.m. hour where we can continue to build on bringing in diverse, smart, and accomplished voices to the table on topics that are important to our viewers.”

MSNBC President Phil Griffin added, “I’m thrilled to have Joy on five nights a week. She’s thoughtful and brings so much depth to her reporting. She’s made for this moment.”

Reid’s promotion comes in the wake of reports that she would take over Chris Matthews’ time slot, following his retirement announcement.

Earlier this year, Matthews exited the “Hardball” news and opinion program that he hosted for 20 years. He decided to retire amid allegations of sexual misconduct.
