*Charlamagne Tha God discussed Nick Cannon’s firing from ViacomCBS on The Breakfast Club where he co-signed the host’s claim that Jewish people control the media.

“Listen, Nick is my guy. I hate it had to be him, but that’s what you can do when you have the power,” he said. “And if there’s one thing Jewish people have showed us, it’s they have the power. I can’t wait until the day black people are able to fire people for saying things about us that we deem racist. We can barely get cops fired for actually killing us!”

He added: “We all have freedom of speech, but we’re not free of the consequences of that speech.”

Cannon is under fire for alleged anti-Semitic comments he made on an episode of his Cannon’s Class show on YouTube. During am interview with Professor Griff of rap group Public Enemy, the actor referenced “going as deep as the Rothschilds, centralized banking, the 13 families, the bloodlines that control everything—even outside of America.”

That statement appears not to be why the Jewish community is ready to cancel the star. It seems the issue is with Cannon saying that Black people can’t be anti-Semitic, because they are the “true Hebrews.”

“It’s never hate speech, you can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people,” Cannon said, according to Variety. “When we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.”

Many would agree that the Bible offers plenty of receipts to support Cannon’s assertion. But in order to keep them checks rolling in, he was forced to apologize for speaking his truth.

Cannon took to social media on Wednesday to acknowledge that his comments “reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naïve place that these words came from.”

He added: “I want to assure my Jewish friends, new and old, that this is only the beginning of my education—I am committed to deeper connections, more profound learning and strengthening the bond between our two cultures today and every day going forward.”

ViacomCBS fired Canon from his “Wild-n-Out” comedy sketch series but Fox has confirmed he will not be dropped from his hosting job on “The Masked Singer.”

In a lengthy Facebook post on Monday, Cannon wrote “I do not condone hate speech nor the spread of hateful rhetoric. … The Black and Jewish communities have both faced enormous hatred, oppression persecution and prejudice for thousands of years and in many ways have and will continue to work together to overcome these obstacles.”
