The View: (clockwise) Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin argue over “racially insensitive” Tucker Carlson of Fox News

*Whoopi Goldberg, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin of “The View” got into a heated discussion over the Tucker Carlson mess at Fox News.

The hot topic was Carlson’s recent on-air, glossed-over explanation of past racist stories published online by one of his show’s former staffers, Blake Neff. Neff resigned from the show after the stories leaked to the public. Carlson tried to put the blame onto people acting “self-righteous.” Meghan McCain defended Carlson’s sentiments, saying that she disagreed with “cancel culture” and how it curtails civil debates.

Whoopi agreed that debates are a good thing, but racism is not. “The racist aspect of it is thrown out there to keep you from making your points,” she said.

McCain took offense, thinking Whoopi was referring to “The View” with her comment. Goldberg explained that she was referring to Carlson’s show and Neff’s writings. McCain then questioned whether Carlson should be held responsible for his writer’s racism. Hostin then jumped in, saying Tucker, himself, is just as racist.

“For Tucker Carlson to try to blame-shift here I think is really despicable,” Hostin said. “I wonder about this long-planned vacation. He seems to take a lot of long-planned vacations when it gets hot in the kitchen for Tucker Carlson.”

McCain then brought up MSNBC’s Joy Reid, asking why she wasn’t “held accountable” for her past “homophobic” comments. Whoopi, Sunny and Joy Behar tried to say that Reid has apologized, but McCain wouldn’t let them get a word in.
