*Los Angeles County sheriff’s investigators have concluded that the 24-year-old Black man found hanging in a tree died by suicide.

On June 10, Robert Fuller was found with a rope around his neck, hanging from a tree in Poncitlan Square in Palmdale, California. Police immediately ruled it suicide due to the Coronavirus lockdown.

Following is an excerpt from CNN: When a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department announced the preliminary findings of Fuller’s death during the news conference, outraged crowds demanded an investigation.

After a “thorough” month-long investigation by the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, his death was determined to be the result of suicide

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Commander Chris Marks said there were no signs of a struggle at the scene and “no defensive wounds observed and no other signs of trauma visible to Mr. Fuller.”

Many Twitter users, however, ain’t buying it.

One user wrote, “So we’re just supposed to look at this AND believe the “authorities” when they tell us that Robert Fuller‘s death was a suicide? F*ck that.”

Another added, “nobody hangs themselves from a fucking tree. saying it was a suicide is so disrespectful to fuller and his family and just so disgusting. JUSTICE FOR ROBERT.”

Marks said Fuller, who previously expressed suicidal behavior, tied a rope directly to tree branches in more than one spot, “indicating that the victim was not hoisted into that position.”

Fuller died one week after another Black man, 38-year-old Malcolm Harsch, was discovered hanging from a tree in Victorville.

Harsch allegedelly died from an apparent suicide, his family said after police discovery of video evidence.

Fuller’s death came amid nationwide protests over the police killing of George Floyd.
