*A nurse in Ohio was fired after a video of her using a racial slur over the Fourth of July weekend went viral, according to Newsweek.com.

The video shows a biracial woman, surrounded by police, telling the man filming why she’s allowed to use the n-word without repercussion. That’s when the nurse, a white woman, interrupts her and shouts the slur to his face. The cops then move her and her biracial friend along.

Another video posted by the same user shows the nurse on the ground, apparently knocked there by someone. He wrote, “told her I was gon get a bih to knock The racist out of her.”

Since being posted on July 4, Black Twitter found the nurse’s identity and contacted her employer, Nationwide Children’s Hospital. They posted a statement to Facebook on July 6, saying the nurse’s conduct was “extremely troubling, inconsistent with our values, and violated Nationwide Children’s social media policies.” The hospital went on to say that “due to the unique and public nature” of the incident, the nurse was terminated.

Meanwhile, the biracial woman in the video has since posted a statement to Twitter saying, “I’m aware of the video circulating that I am in with my best friend’s sister. We have never been close and what she said is despicable.”
She explained that she was in the midst of telling the man filming before being interrupted, “I am biracial. I have experienced lots of racially motivated hatred. Me being ‘half and half’ doesn’t invalidate the harm I’ve experienced growing up in a small town. …As a biracial woman I will continue to use my voice and educate those around me.”
