In the course of checking on his homeless mother, Branch was fatally shot in the back last month. Crump, Galipo and Herrmann will hold a news conference via Zoom on Monday, July 6 at 2:30 p.m. PT to discuss the case.

“The Tacoma Police Department has a pattern of using excessive, deadly force against its citizens,” Crump said. “This young man was checking on his homeless mother. The officers treated him like his life was worthless.”
