D.L. Hughley talks to TMZ about having COVID-19

*D.L. Hughley appears to be bouncing back from the coronavirus rather swiftly.

You recall less than two weeks ago, the comedian passed out during one of his stand-up show’s and less than 24 hours later, claimed he tested positive for the deadly contagion.

Earlier, we posted news of him collapsing on-stage during a comedy show in Nashville. The following day, he posted a video on Instagram, saying he received the coronavirus diagnosis after a series of tests at Nashville’s Saint Thomas Hospital.

“I was what they call asymptomatic,” Hughley said in the video (see below). “I didn’t have flu-like symptoms, I didn’t have shortness of breath, I didn’t have difficulty breathing, I didn’t have a cough, I didn’t have a low-grade fever. I still don’t have a fever. I didn’t have a loss of smell or taste, apparently I just lost consciousness.”

Hughley is now back on the press circuit promoting his latest bookSurrender, White People!: Our Unconditional Terms for Peace,” which is available now.

During an interview on The Clay Cane Show on SiriusXM Urban View, the comedian touch on a myriad of topics, including  Black Trump supporters.

“I think you can be a Black Republican and be a redeemable human being,” said Hughley. “However, you can’t be a Black Trump supporter and be a redeemable human being. You can’t. It’s impossible to be humane and a Black Trump supporter. It’s impossible to do that based on all the things he does and continues to do. The things he says and how detrimental he’s been.”

He added, “I can’t think of one Black Trump supporter that I find redeemable in the most basic way. Name me one that isn’t bat shit crazy… name me one, like, Diamond and Silk, Candace Owens.”

When asked if he would invite some of these conservative influencers onto his radio show, Hughley explained: “I can’t speak for anybody else, but when that’s your premise, when your premise starts, from that perspective…I don’t know what I would talk about with you. I think it would be more of a spectacle than a conversation.”
