*Funnyman D.L. Hughley was doing this thing on stage Friday night on stage in Nashville when all of a sudden it was lights out for him. You
Yep, he was entertaining a sold-out crowd at Zanies Comedy Club when all of a sudden, at approximately 11 PM, it appeared something wasn’t right. His speech became labored. A security guard handed D.L. a bottle of water, and a minute later he was out cold while he was leaning against a stool.
Here’s what TMZ reported:
The comedian’s manager was at the ready and grabbed D.L. to break his fall. The manager carried him off stage and that was it … no one told the crowd what happened, but it was serious enough for an ambulance and fire truck to show up. D.L. was put on a stretcher and taken to a nearby hospital.
Well, we’ve got an update and it’s good news. D.L. is gonna be okay. His rep told TMZ that he was “suffering from exhaustion after all the week’s work and travel, and was kept overnight at the hospital for tests under doctor’s orders. He is awake and feeling better, and wishes to thank everyone for the very kind prayer and thoughts.”
Hmm, we can’t with hear what he – or some other comic – has to say about the incident. We’re also wondering if D.L.’s passing out has anything to do with the fact that he almost ALWAYS has a drink in his hand.
