*Twitter has put another warning label on a Trump tweet, this time alerting users that a video he shared – a viral 2019 clip of two bestie toddlers, one black, one white, running toward each other and embracing – had been doctored to make it appear that CNN manipulated the video to amplify a story about racism.
The video Trump shared has a fake CNN caption over footage edited to make it appear that the black baby is running from the white baby. The fake misspelled caption reads, “Terrified todler runs from racist baby.” Then the text “What Actually Happened” appears over a black screen before footage of the original video showing the boys excitedly running to each other and hugging. The parting message reads: “America is not the problem. Fake news is.”
After Trump tweeted the video late Thursday, Twitter promptly tagged it with their “manipulated media” warning and linked to a page that said multiple journalists confirmed the clip was edited to make it look like a CNN broadcast. As seen below, the video remains in Trump’s timeline, but with the warning.
