Additional background information:

About “The Banker”: Inspired by true events, Apple’s “The Banker” centers on revolutionary businessmen Bernard Garrett (Anthony Mackie) and Joe Morris (Samuel L. Jackson) – two unsung heroes who helped pave the way for fair housing and lending laws that are still being put to the test today in the United States. Using their skill, wit, and intellect, Garrett and Morris devised an audacious and risky plan to take on the racist establishment of the 1960s by helping other African Americans pursue the American dream. Along with Garrett’s wife Eunice (Nia Long), they train a working-class white man, Matt Steiner (Nicholas Hoult), to pose as the rich and privileged face of their burgeoning real estate and banking empire – while Garrett and Morris pose as a janitor and a chauffeur. Their bravery and determination led to the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which made it illegal to refuse to sell or rent property on the basis of race, religion or gender.

About “Dear….”: Apple’s groundbreaking series “Dear…” takes an inventive and cinematic approach to biographies of the most iconic figures in society today by using letters written by those whose lives have been changed through their work. The first season features moving episodes with Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Misty Copeland, Stevie Wonder and more.
