*Justin King, a white YouTuber who goes by the name “Beau of the Fifth Column,” filmed a video that brilliantly calls out the white Georgia police officer whose paranoia over her delayed McDonald’s order being tampered with led to a meltdown that has gone viral.
After mimicking the first part of her video, King begins offering commentary on the audacity of her anguish. “I imagine the fear [she felt] is a fraction of what black Americans feel when they get pulled over and they have to sit there and wait while their tags are ran, before they get to find out whether the cop who walks up to the window is going to be someone who fears for their life,” he said.
He also suggests that her anxiety over being poisoned due to the current climate surrounding police reform fuels the same kind of misunderstandings that lead to police shootings of unarmed black people.
“That anxiety level that that officer has may be an indication that she needs to take a leave of absence. If you have that much anxiety waiting on line for an egg McMuffin, perhaps you shouldn’t be on the streets armed. I feel like that level of anxiety and fear may cause someone to fear for their life in a situation where it is not a rational fear and that may lead to tragic consequences,” he said.
“It’s time to put that gun away, you don’t want to hurt anybody.”
