*Last week, drugstore chains Walgreens and CVS Health joined Walmart in announcing that they’ll stop locking up beauty and hair care products aimed at black women, a practice that has drawn the ire of customers.

Walmart on Wednesday said it would ban the practice, which took place at a dozen of its 4,700 stores and became the focus of a federal discrimination lawsuit filed in 2018 that was dropped a year later.

It took the nationwide protests against police brutality and racial inequality following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis for retailers to rethinking their merchandising strategies, like Quaker Oats announcing the end of its Aunt Jemima name and Band-Aid offering flesh-toned bandages for folks with melanin.

Trevor Noah tackled this topic on “The Daily Show” Tuesday night with correspondent and natural hair wearer Dulce Sloan providing her take.
