*Donald Trump didn’t let America’s current spotlight on George Floyd and protests for racial equality rain on his new jobs report released this morning.
As he touted surprising new unemployment numbers showing it had improved in May, he simply combined the two topics, saying Friday he hoped Floyd was “looking down” from heaven “and saying, ‘This is a great thing happening for our country.’”
He said a strong economy was key to improving racial tensions, adding, “This is a great day for him, this is a great day for everybody. This is a great, great day in terms of equality.”
Below, 45 was asked how he plans to address systemic racism. Watch below or at ABC.com.
