*Social media platforms are reportedly cracking down racists who are participating in the “George Floyd challenge.”
As reported by the New York Post, the trend went viral after three teens were arrested in the UK for a possible hate crime after sharing photos of themselves mocking the death of Floyd, the handcuffed black man who died after a police officer pressed a knee against his neck for several minutes.
One participant in the challenge claimed to be a recent Air Force graduate, who captioned the sick photo, “Graduate Lives Matter.”
Social media giants such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter appear to be taking action by not returning any results under the #GeorgeFloydChallenge hashtag; or users are being met with a “Hashtag is Hidden” message.

“We are aware, and are removing these posts for violating our Community Standards,” a spokesperson for Facebook told The Post, noting it was deemed “encouraging participation in a high-risk viral challenge.”
The challenge has also sparked outrage from social media users.
“How is possible that people is dying outside, whole afro community are finally saying out loud that #EnoughIsEnough and … you came with this disgusting challenge,” one user wrote”
“This is disgusting,” a user named Ila tweeted, asking, “Who the HELL does this?”
“If you think this is funny, you’re apart of the problem,” wrote @TheRealLadyRaw, calling it “F–KING DISGUSTING.”
Meanwhile, the final 20-age autopsy report was released on June 3, and the family is outraged that it indicates Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death, but the drugs are not listed as the cause of his death.
Floyd’s death has been ruled a homicide.
The autopsy report concludes the cause of death was “cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression.”
However, an independent examiner hired by the Floyd family listed the cause of death as “asphyxiation from sustained pressure.”
