*History was made in Ferguson, Missouri Tuesday as 65-year-old Ella Jones became the first African-American and first woman to be elected mayor.
Her election comes nearly six years after the city erupted in protests after a white police officer shot and killed Michael Brown.
Jones said of her victory; “I’ve got work to do — because when you’re an African-American woman, they require more of you than they require of my counterpart.”
