*In response to the abhorrent handling of the Minneapolis police lynching of George Floyd, rapper T.I. has called for Black people to take a day to boycott the bulls*it, urging people of color (and white allies) to show solidarity on July 7 for #BLACKOUTDAY2020.

In a message shared on Instagram on Friday, the hip-hop star wrote:

This is a call to action!! We need one day of solidarity in America when not one black person in America spends a dollar. This includes Africans, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanics…ALL people of color. Together we have 3.9 trillion dollars in economic spending power. That’s $10,684,931,506.80 it’s going to cost per day next time a person of color gets shot!!! We call it #BLACKOUTDAY2020 July 7th, 2020 please spread the message, and let’s show REAL action that they fear!!!!

In the caption, T.I. added, “Nobody spend SHIT on this day‼️ IF you Give AF about the murders, lynchings,& oppression of people of color!!!”

In related news, T.I. has responded to Donald Trump’s Snapchat team using the app to share a parody of the rapper’s 2008 hit ‘Whatever You Like’ for his latest attack on his 2020 Democratic opponent, Joe Biden

We previously reported.. in a statement, a rep for the hip-hop star said the video is an “unauthorized use” of the track.

Adding, “The video distorts lyrics from his #1 charting song by misrepresenting the lyrics through text language and distortion of his recorded voice,” the statement reads. “It goes without saying, that T.I. would not in any way ever support the divisive policies and destructive propaganda of Trump. The people of our country deserve far better than this.”

T.I.’s legal team plans to pursue legal action, as the artist has made it quite clear that he does not endorse the clip.

“Be clear, he does not authorize it or consent to the use of his song to falsely suggest any endorsement of President Trump or to attack Joe Biden,” the statement continues. “It is sad, but expected, that this President would stoop so low to use his property without authority to manipulate the community. T.I.’s legal team and media partners are already moving expeditiously to block this unauthorized use and set the record straight in no uncertain terms.”

Meanwhile, rapper Juicy J has also shared Tip’s call to action.
