Apparently the Mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, has seen enough, heard enough and knows enough about the George Floyd situation and wants and arrest and prosecution.
Specifically, the mayor is demanding that prosecutors arrest and charge Derek Chauvin, the white police officer who was filmed pressing his knee on the neck of black man George Floyd moments before his death.
On Wednesday, Minneapolis officials formally identified and fired the four fired police officers involved in Monday’s incident as Chauvin, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao, and J Alexander Kueng.
As we reported on Tuesday, the 4 cops were booted from the Minneapolis Police Department, after initially being placed on administrative leave, after footage of Floyd’s arrest and death was widely shared on social media.

Frey, who said firing the cops was the “right call,” has now urged for Chauvin to be formally arrested and charged over his role in Monday’s incident.
“If most people, particularly people of color, had done what a police officer did late Monday, they’d already be behind bars,” Frey said in a tweet on Wednesday.
“That’s why today I’m calling on Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman to charge the arresting officer in this case.”
Floyd family attorney Ben Crump earlier identified Chauvin as the officer who was seen pinning Floyd to the ground in video footage of his arrest.
New footage later emerged showing the moment Floyd was pulled from his car by police after he was accused of forgery.
As we reported, Floyd, 46, was recorded losing consciousness on Monday after officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for a mind-boggling 8 minutes while arresting him for allegedly trying to use fake money at a local eatery.
