This Friday, fans will hear the untold story of their favorite Great Dane and gang in “Scoob.”
The animated action-adventure film stars Kiersey Clemons as Dee Dee Skyes and Amanda Seyfried as Daphne Blake.
EUR correspondent Fahnia Thomas spoke with the ladies about sheroes, friendship and Scooby snacks.
Q: How does it feel to play a superhero?
KC: It’s flattering to be a part of this world and to give Dee Dee this new life! She’s reborn, she has a new suit, a new hairdo and she’s the pilot of the falcon fury! I’m excited for my little sisters and little brother to watch “Scoob”. And I hope it inspires little black girls!
Q: What kind of snacks are you going to have during the premiere?
AS: (Annie’s Organic) Cheddar Bunnies!
KC: My girlfriend will probably end up making the food. She makes amazing Chinese food! She’s Chinese so it’s not like she’s just whipping up Chinese recipes out of nowhere. She’s been cooking [a lot of] food out of nostalgia or homesickness and I’ve been getting the benefit of it! Maybe [we’ll have] duck pancakes [during the premiere]. I’ll post it on my story.
Q: Shaggy and Scooby are best friends who get to go outside and ghost hunt, but we’re locked-in because of coronavirus, what do you miss doing with your bestie?
KC: I miss hugging them! I really like having my friends over and sitting on the couch talking or watching movies. I love to make people food! I just miss touching everybody.
AS: A friend and I used to drive up to each other’s house and sit in the car. Finding the time to sit together in a car just feels so sacred and weird but [it was nice] to make time for each other.
Warner Bros. Pictures “Scoob” will be released to video on demand on May 15.
