Scott and Badu hosted the first female battle of the popular Instagram Live #Verzuz series on Saturday night (May 9), and collectively pulled 6.7 million U.S. streams over the weekend for their total song catalogs, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, via Billboard

During her conversation with Tigger, Jill explained the process of preparing for the virtual show: “I did not want to do anything that was expected… like here’s a hit, here’s a hit… I heard about what happens in these things, but I wanted to share some music… I wanted to share some stuff that would maybe expand my audience….and then when they do more research and buy my catalog, which they are doing!” she said, per radio.com

Big Tigger also took questions from fans, with one asking Jilly from Philly: “What have you learned, new or different about your craft, and or talent since quarantine?”

Scott replied, “…there is a certain part of quiet that is mandatory for art, in order to hear it all, going in the backyard and listening to nature. I’ve learned that that is crucial… quieting oneself to hear everything… my pen has really enjoyed that. I’m writing all kinds of things. Adding, “I don’t know when, I don’t know why, I’m not judging it, I’ve got time. I can write my heart out and take a nap… I’ve never had this amount of time in my life ever.”

Tigger also asked Jill about the infamous 2018 video of her simulating oral sex during a concert. When asked her how she felt about the fellatio footage going viral, she said:

“Yea, yea I didn’t expect it I was really really caught off guard, that had been apart of my show off and on depending on the audience, and what I wanted to say that night. It had been apart of the show for maybe about 5 years, depending. So I was really surprised, but I know who did it.  And I know why they did it.”
