*In what appears as an attempt to distract America from his recent leadership failures regarding COVID-19, President Trump tweeted “Obamagate” over the weekend and keeps teasing that he and everybody else is aware of a scandal involving No. 44.
It appears that since the Justice Department abruptly dropped charges against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, who pled guilty to lying to the FBI during the Mueller investigation, Trump is now trying to paint the investigation itself as a crime orchestrated by Obama. On Mother’s Day, Trump tweeted that Obama has committed “the biggest political crime in American history.” But when asked at a press conference to get specific, he would only say, “The crime is very obvious to everybody, all you have to do is read the newspapers.”
Trevor Noah of “The Daily (Social Distancing) Show” joked of this nonsense, “Trump is treating Obama less like a criminal, and more like they’re in a relationship and Trump feels like Obama messed up.”
