*Just like regular folks, a lot of celebrities were horrified by the killing of unarmed black jogger Ahmaud Arbery. As a reaction to his senseless killing, some celebs and activists are seeking justice for his death and support his loved ones.
You also have Oprah Winfrey who reportedly reached out to Ahmaud Arbery’s mother, Wanda Cooper-Jones, to share her condolences and wish Ahmaud a happy birthday on Friday, May 8, according to TMZ.
Cooper-Jones told TMZ that she couldn’t believe it when she answered the phone to hear Winfrey on the other end. The media mogul, according to the celebrity site, told Wanda that she is hoping that the Arbery family gets justice and was happy to hear that the murder suspects, Gregory and Travis McMichael had been arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault.
Along with Winfrey’s surprise call came a hint that a special gift was on the way.
And, to honor Ahmaud Arbery, Oprah and her family joined thousands to walk or jog 2.26 miles on Friday (May 8), the day of his 26th birthday.

Oh yeah, Wanda Cooper-Jones says Gayle King called last Thursday and offered kind words,. Another call came from Rev. Jesse Jackson who told her he wants to visit her and Ahmaud’s family when it’s safe to travel again.
Arbery was killed on February 23 while jogging in a neighborhood in Brunswick, Georgia, where he was shot by Gregory and Travis McMichael who claim they were attempting a citizen’s arrest.
A third suspect, William Bryan, is under investigation after he recorded the video.
As we reported earlier, the Georgia attorney general announced that Joyette Holmes, a black woman, will be the prosecutor for the Ahmaud Arbery Case.
