*”I’m excited to share our baby girl, Tristyn Naomi Wilds, with the world in @Essence Magazine’s 50th Anniversary Issue,” wrote actor/singer Tristan “Mack” Wilds, 30, in a post on Twitter that was accompanied by photos of his newborn along with his wife of fifteen years, Christina Hammond.
In December 2019, Wilds revealed news of his wife’s pregnancy via Instagram, telling fans he was going to be a father after she previously suffered a miscarriage.
“I had a lot of growing up and strengthening to do to be ready to take care of this little one,” he said of his 5-month-old daughter in a recent interview with Essence.

Baby Tristyn is the couple’s first child and Wilds tells the publication, “There’s a certain tenderness when you’re raising a girl,” he says. “You still have to be tough, but ultimately, when you’re raising a girl, you’re raising the closest thing that we have to God.”
And when it comes to his wife, who is a media and talent relations strategist, Wilds said: “Everybody says their woman is their rib. But she’s my backbone. In this business, it’s like, if you don’t have a backbone, you’re a gutted fish.”

Hammond also gushed over Wilds’ natural bond with their daughter: “I’m a daddy’s girl, so I’m blessed that she’s able to have the experience of having such a good father, because there’s nothing like it. I know that he has her back 1,000 percent.”
