Drake Opens Up About Fatherhood To Lil Wayne and Why He Shared Pics Of Son Adonis

drake

*Back in March, Drake shared for the first time photos of his two-year-old son Adonis, and now he has explained why he made the move after initially vowing to keep his family life private.

We previously reported… it was revealed in 2018 that Drake welcomed a baby with former porn star Sophie Brussaux. Fans have since been pressed the singer to see what the child looks like, but Drake has been notoriously private about his son. He had a change of heart, however, on March 30, as Drake took to Instagram to post several snaps of the curly-haired boy.

Brussaux welcomed Adonis in October 2017 and she and Drak attempted to keep the child’s birth a secret until rapper Pusha-T mentioned the child on his diss track “Story of Adidon” during his 2018 beef with Drake.

Drake then confirmed the birth of his son with lyrics on his June 2018 album “Scorpion.”

Now he is speaking out about why he finally shared pictures of his son Adonis on his Instagram account. Peep what he had to say below.

“I posted those pictures, it was great for me. It was great to just share that with the world. I wasn’t even anything I talked to anybody about or anything I planned,” Drizzy explained to Lil Wayne on the rapper’s Young Money Radio show. “I just woke up one morning, and I was like, you know what? This is just something that I want to do. I want to be able to go places with my son and share memories with my son. I don’t want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be, you know, a ‘celebrity’ that I got to make everybody live under this blanket. I just wanted to free myself of that.”

Drake previously praised his son in a heartfelt post about wanting to reunite with his family and friends amid the coronavirus social distancing order.

In one IG pic, Drake wrote, “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light. This will create the biggest opening of all.”

He added, “Trust that you have all of the power within to make this happen, and in order to do that connect to the people and things that bring you a lot of joy.

“When the mind starts to move into overthinking or fear, shift your attention right away to something bright. It doesn’t matter what has happened in the past or what is happening around us now, you can always make the choice to break free of the wheel of suffering and panic and open up to your own light, he added.”

During his conversation with Lil Wayne, Drake said that watching out artists balance fatherhood with their music and tour life has inspired him.

“A lot of us, like Chainz, is a great father and a lot of the guys that we came up around just being great family men on those tours and on those long studio nights when albums need to get done… But specifically you [Lil Wayne]… I could just tell the way your kids would stare at you that the time and effort that you put in as a father. So, that was really inspiring for me just to know that I can still keep pushing forward as a musician and be there for my son.”
