*Idaho is not playing. A cop in the city of Meridian arrested a 40-year-old mom in front of her kids after she took them to a playground in violation of the city’s stay-at-home order. The arrest immediately sparked a protest of about 100 people in front of Meridian City Hall .
Meridian, Idaho’s third largest city, closed down its public parks and recreational facilities to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Sara Brady was part of a small group of people at the playground for a “playdate protest” against the park closure, which they believe is local government overreach against personal freedoms.
A follow-up video with her in handcuffs being escorted out of the park showed other moms with babies in arms trying to block the officers’ paths. “Move out of my way,” one officer yelled to one of them.
