*After having major technical difficulties Saturday that caused them to postpone their song battle Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Teddy Riley returned to Instagram Live on Monday night for a virtual music session that attracted more than 500,000 viewers.
The singer-producers played their classics from the 1980s and 90s, and Babyface even performed a live rendition of “When Can I See You.”
Riley has produced hits for Mary. J. Blige, Blackstreet and Lady Gaga. Meanwhile, Babyface has created hits for everyone from Whitney Houston to Madonna.
During the event, Babyface played hit tracks such as Boyz II Men’s “I’ll Make Love To You,” Tevin Campbell’s “Can We Talk?,” and Bobby Brown’s “Everybody Little Step” while Riley played Hi-Face’s “I Like The Way,” Michael Jackson’s “Jam,” and Guy’s “I Like,” and much more.
The battle saw some big name celebs in attendance, including Michelle Obama, Missy Elliott, Pharrell, Anthony Anderson, Tyrese, Queen Latifah, Keyshia Cole, Skai Jackson, Rashida Jones, Pusha-T, Gabrielle Union, Diddy, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, and many more.
“Thanks for taking us back down memory lane Teddy and Babyface with your classic hits!,” Obama wrote in the comments section of the stream.

As reported by the New York Post, throughout the competition, Kenny and Teddy had nothing but praise for one another.
“You inspired me,” Riley told Babyface.
“We keep each other on our toes,” Babyface said.
Some would say Babyface won the song battle.
“There is no battle, you know who’s winning? Us. The culture,” singer Toni Braxton tweeted.
“There’s no reason to keep score. It’s impossible. Just two-step (or running man) and enjoy. These Black men gave us so much,” said April Reign.
