WE REMEMBER: Roland Wirt (LA-Based Entertainment Promoter) Dies At 68

Unfortunately, we have sad news to report about entertainment veteran Roland Wirt. The longtime promoter of entertainment events in Los Angeles and around the country has passed away.  He was 68.

Here’s the official statement from the family:

We have lost a giant promoter in the entertainment industry. At approximately 2:30 am on April 13, 2020, Roland L. Wirt (“Rockin’ Roland, The Cat-N-Da-Hat, and Dresser Extraordinaire”), passed due to an ongoing heart condition, unrelated to COVID-19.

Roland was known by many as a promoter in Los Angeles, and he began his career dating back to the 70s. He was influential in helping numerous singers, musicians, actors, models and athletes in event planning and promotion. His annual All White Party was an event that could not be missed. People flew in from across the country to be present.

His charity, kindness, charisma, loving spirit will always be remembered. The light that lit his beautiful smile will never be forgotten. The memories will never fade. His friendliness to all will forever be in our hearts. We will miss our husband, brother, father, and friend. We will miss Roland L. Wirt.

For those that didn’t know Roland Wirt, here’s a tribute to him from LA community activist Najee Ali:

“Roland Wirt was one of the most charismatic individuals that you’ll ever meet in your lifetime. Whenever he walked into a room he walked over to you with a smile on his face and gave you a warm greeting. He was known as the cat in the hat for his wide assortment of  brims he wore with his dapper suits.”

Ali added:

“L.A. has lost a promoter supreme and our nightlife will never be the same. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.”
