*Jeezy and his fiancée Jeannie Mai say they are looking forward to marriage life together.
“Would say 4 life but that’s not long enough ? Infinity…” the rapper captioned a photo of himself and “The Real” co-host, both dressed up and standing arm-in-arm (see below).
Jeezy was originally planning to propose in April during a previously planned trip to Vietnam. That plan was curbed when travel was restricted due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Jeezy decided to surprise Mai with a proposal during a date night at his home in Los Angeles, PEOPLE reports.

“Jeannie and Jay were set for a trip to Vietnam this April. What Jeannie didn’t know is that Jay was planning to propose,” Mai’s rep told PEOPLE. “Instead, Jay decided to bring Vietnam to Jeannie with a surprise quarantine date night in his home filled with Vietnamese food and decor.”
Mai was previously married for ten years to Freddy Harteis, and following their divorce, she took time to get to know herself.
Jeannie recently shared a video on her Youtube channel speaking about her self-love journey leading to Jeezy. She told fans:
“On November 28th, when I sat down with Jay, the minute I sat down and we locked eyes – when I – the millisecond that I saw his eyes…I immediately knew he was special. And I knew that he had like an um, I saw this crazy kindness in his eyes. And this humility that [he], like me, hasn’t always made the best choices in life. Things didn’t always turn out the way they were supposed to. But in our careers, we look like we have all the right answers. We look like, yo, these people can’t possibly live a day being unhappy. But I could see right away that he had been broken like me.
“It was insane. So I was able to connect with that. And we are great at where we are right now, as far as spending each day to unveil more of each other and appreciate it.”
Jeezy and Jeannie met on the set of her daytime talk show in November 2018, but didn’t take their romance public until the following August.
“We both went through enough in our life to connect on the understanding that love should feel safe, honest, and pure,” Mai told PEOPLE in November. “Immediately that was a magnetic attraction. We are very attracted to each other’s passions to serve. So because we have a mutual joy of having purpose, we’re going to find a way to do that together.”
