Co-host Amanda Seales has some recommendations for a viewer who has questions about relationships with insecure men, and co-host Tamera Mowry-Housley reveals which host she would swap lives with if she could!

And then actors Xosha Roquemore and Alano Miller stop by to talk about their new show Cherish The Day and about finding love in the 21st century.

The Real (03-12-20)

Loni Advises A Young Engineer How To Get Her Point Across

Loni Love: Sometimes it takes me a while to get my words out, as most of you probably know. So, I would suggest that whenever you’re in a certain setting, because we’re numbers girls, we’re in STEM, we really don’t care about words, keep your words as simple as possible. Also, use simple words, but learn how to get your point across simply, you know. If you’re talking to someone, like a lawyer, a doctor, or Amanda…

[The Real audience laughs]

Loni: …and they say a big word that you don’t understand, you know, don’t be afraid to say, you know, can you – what that mean? You know. What you talking about?

Amanda Seales: Surreptitious.

Loni: Yes. Get clarification, don’t ever let anyone make you feel –

Adrienne Houghton: That’s right!

Loni: – inadequate or silly or dumb.

[The Real audience applauds]

Loni: Because you’re very, very smart.

Adrienne: You hit us with the numbers and we’ll be asking you the same question!

Amanda: Absolutely.

Adrienne: “What that mean?”

Loni: The last thing I want to say is a lot of times I sit at this table and people say, “Oh Loni, you’re being quiet.” I’m not being quiet, I’m listening. I’m in the middle. And there’s conversations here [pointing to her right] and there’s conversations here [pointing to her left] – sometimes at the same time.

[The hosts laugh]

Loni: And that’s fine. And that’s OK. But it really takes a special person to know how to listen and a lot of engineers, because we know how to solve problems, we are really good listeners. And I’m listening because I want to be able to respond, because we’re trying to give you the best conversation that we can.

[The Real audience applauds]

Loni: So – don’t be afraid to afraid to be quiet and just listen – and really not be quiet, but actually hear what they’re saying. Because you will get so much knowledge. And, you get to learn big words! When you listen to other people! So, that’s my advice to you.

[The Real audience applauds]

Tamera Mowry-Housley: That was amazing, Loni!

Adrienne: I love that!
