Seattle preschool teacher Laurie Geoff demonstrates the correct way to cough.

*We’ve all heard that coughing or sneezing into the crook of your arm is the best way to prevent the spread of your cooties. But something about the way this preschool teacher explains it has resonated with thousands on Twitter (just over 14K and counting to be exact).

In her now viral video, Laurie Geoff of Seattle calls the fold in your arm a “cough pocket,” and demonstrates why coughing into your hand is not wise.

“When you cough into your hands like that, now you have germs all over your hands and anything you touch will get your germs on it so now you need to go wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap,” Geoff says in the video tweeted Saturday.
