Ringside Update/ Wilder vs Fury: The Epilog (HUMILIATE!)

*There’s only one word I could come up with that adequately describes what happened last Saturday night and I think I’ll put that in all caps: HUMILIATE!

That is exactly what Tyson Fury did to Deontay Wilder for lack of a better term. Fury HUMILIATED Wilder!!

After all that trash-talking about what he was going to do to the GYPSY KING this guy gets the dog hell beat out of him like he talked about Fury’s momma!

And I got to tell you something folks, going into this one I just had this hunch or belief that this was going to be Fury’s night to get back but I never thought it was going to be like that!! I mean he beat him across the entire ring throughout the seven rounds that it lasted in case some of you didn’t get a chance to see it.

And for Wilder to come into the ring with that all-black/bluish costume with pomp and pageantry only to get the hell knocked out of him had to be the most embarrassing and humiliating experience he ever had in his career. And even though the outfit looked like it might have been a ton in weight that’s still no excuse that Wilder can give for getting a royal beat down.

Folks, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again when you look at all the opponents that Wilder has went up against and knocked out with the exception of Luis Ortiz ninety percent of them were total bums! And you can say what you want about Fury and Joshua they both have passed the litmus test in this writer’s opinion and that is they both went up against Vladimir Khlitscko and beat him and Wilder has never got in the ring with him who was one of the rugged and tough fighters that ever came out of the Kronk Gym.

And speaking of Kronk, it was where Fury once began his pro career some twelve years ago under the guidance of the late great Emanuel Steward who’s nephew “Sugarhill” Steward Fury went to at the Kronk in Detroit to get properly prepared for this match with Wilder and folks, it all paid off for him.

And of course, Wilder did not show up at the post-fight press conference but his manager Shelly Finkel did along with Jay Deas his head trainer but not Mark Breland his assistant trainer who threw in the towel to stop the fight. You can only imagine what might have happened if Mark hadn’t done that folks, he literally saved Wilder’s life in my humble opinion. And what reward does Breland deserve for doing that you might ask? Well folks, after being in his corner throughout his career he ultimately gets fired and will not be in the corner for the next fight. Mark Breland is a former world champion and Olympic Gold medalist from the ’84 Games and a well-seasoned veteran in boxing with more knowledge, wisdom and understanding than Carter has liver pills who should’ve been treated better than that in this writers view. Oh well as I always say, we’ll see what happens next for Wilder he’s got a ways to go after that royal, humiliating beat down.

I’ve seen a lot of stuff go down in my thirty-eight years of being around the sport folks, but this is definitely at the top of the list. And as a black American in this country, I’m always going to hope and pray that our people get the victory we deserve. But I’m also always going to give it up for the better man and stand up for what is right. And with that said, my hat goes off to Tyson Fury and I’m looking to see what happens with him and Joshua.
