Black History Month US – Celebrating an African American (and A Cuban Great)

Our Roots - Nichelle Nichols EURWEB 2020

*Nichelle Nichols planned to leave the STAR TREK TV series after the first season but a STAR TREK fan stopped her leaving the Star Trek series and that fan was Martin Luther King Jr. … “You don’t have a black role…you have an equal role,” King Jr. said to Nichols.

She has since announced that she will not be doing anymore STAR TREK conventions.

Our Roots - Sergio Oliva EURWEB 2020

Now, Sergio Oliva, the Cuban bodybuilder was the most gifted bodybuilder to have graced the bodybuilding stage in his time. Cuba has produced great black sportsmen and women through the years who deserve more recognition. OUR ROOTS congratulates the TV and sporting greats of color.
