*A fan page devoted to Wendy Williams is going on hiatus amid the controversy over her recent comments.
Williams recently apologized to the LGBTQ’s after saying on air that gay men should “stop wearing our skirts and heels.”
“I’m 55 years old and maybe I sounded like your auntie, your mother, your big sister or somebody out of touch,” Williams said in her apology video. “I’m not out of touch except for perhaps yesterday by saying what I said. I deeply apologize and I deeply appreciate the support that I get from the community. I will do better.”
She again caught heat this week after appearing to joke about the recent death of Drew Carey’s ex-fiancée Amie Harwick— watch the clip below.

“Drew Carey’s ex-fiance was tragically murdered over the weekend,” Williams said of Harwick. “She was killed — not by Drew — but by the ex,” she added, referring to Gareth Pursehouse, the man arrested and charged with the murder.
Wendy then said the famous “Price Is Right” catchphrase, “Come on down!” and lowered her head, like she’s watching someone fall. The audience was not amused (see Twitter video embed above).
The back-to-back controversies have prompted her longest-running fan account on Instagram to call it quits, as the page posted a photo of Williams on Tuesday along with the message, “We love you Wendy, but we will be taking a break from this page” (see post below).
Page Six reports, fans are posting mixed reactions in the comments section of the post, with one writing “I am taking a break from Wendy period. I have watched her from the beginning but I just cannot support her comments any longer. Today was the icing on the cake.”
But one Wendy supporter added, “Oh my gosh and you all are perfect?????? She brings so much happiness and laughter everyday so y’all move on but we will always live Wendy? I hope y’all get over yourselves sour puss!!!!!!!!!”
